The end of book 3 tears me to shreds every time I watch it. From the beginning as a child, she had been isolated from a normal life, all focus put on being the Avatar. It seems as though Korra was always put through the motions of the decisions of others, and always fighting for her individual say. Zaheer is the greatest villain of this show. He brings out Korra's feelings of helplessness and makes her question her purpose as a living being and as an Avatar. So when she is poisoned, when the Avatar cycle is ended by Zaheer, Korra feels that her entire purpose has ended. That she is not only "worthless" but also the cause of the loss of the avatar. It is heartbreaking to see her with tears in her eyes after being tortured. Yes, she was victorious against Zaheer. But she sacrificed so much for it.

This is one of my personal favorite scenes in the series. It makes me cry every time, so emotional.

I always know that being an Avatar, even as a member of the current Avatar's team, is not all rainbows and sugar. But the finale of Book 3 really shows the brutal reality of that sentiment.

What a boring song

I feel like many people misconstrue the tone of this scene. It's not some epic moment, or a great triumph. It's tragic. People often fail to realise that Ozai abused Azula just as much as he abused Zuko, only her abuse was on a far more psychological level, simultaneously raising her to view herself as the pinnacle of strength and intelligence but also enforcing in her that she only had worth for as long as he approved of her. Both Azula and Zuko were bred by war, in the beach episode you see in full just how damaging Ozai's parenting has been on his children , particularly Azula as she is physically incapable of functioning in a peaceful setting. He has groomed and conditioned her so much that the only time where she feels in control and comfortable I when she's in a position of power on a battlefield. Not only that but one of his other tactics was to constantly pit his children against each other, to the point where Zuko deeply envies Azula and Azula fears becoming Zuko. In the last agni ka it's shown to the viewer that their relationship has been ireperaly torn apart by their father. Azula and Zuko have been thoroughly destroyed by the man that was supposed to love them unconditionally, and Azula in specific fails to realise just how little he cares about them, by virtue of being stuck in an echo chamber where she is the world, orbiting her father's sun. The most important person around but still completely dependant on him and his whims. The fact that Azula and Zuko are fighting each other like this is a tragedy. Siblings are not supposed to approach each other with lethal intent and yet Ozai had succeeded in completely tearing them apart and ruining any chance of them having a normal relationship. This scene demonstrates the she damage Ozai has had on his children, Azula unable to cope with theidea that she could lose to her lesser brother and Zuko pushed to fight the sister he wanted to have a relationship with but was taken too far by the father he wanted to impress.

Ahhhh! The great memories this brings to me.

Dam you can tell it broke Zukos heart to have to fight against his only sister his only blood next to his uncle and father but he knew it was something he HAD TO DO….

There are eight chakras. Last time I said that, I man on the group facebook of Avatar The Last Airbender debated me to said it was not truth and that they were no fact. There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this show. This is is as close to perfection as you can come. When this song plays at the very end you feel overwhelmed. You feel as if all of the emotions you have felt during the entirety of the show comes rushing back in one big wave. It's comfort, contentment, sadness, pain, melancholy all at the same time. Then you feel empty. It's such a strange feeling that I can't quite describe to a full extent. It's bittersweet. It's akin to losing something dear to you. You don't want it to be over you only want more of their silly adventures, more of them bonding, more of their world. The show is too good to have an ending This is by far my favorite animated series of all time, it's not even close.
